GetSportsFocus is a Silicon Valley-based independent sports media, events, marketing, and promotions entity focused but not limited to youth and student-athletes. Spearheaded by multi-award-winning producer and director Alforde Joaquin, GetSportsFocus or GSF is constantly evolving to serve the Bay Area community in the most positive way.
AJ
Music Producer, Creative Director, Videographer
As a sophomore in high school, AJ started working for GSF as a student intern. He assisted during games and remote shoots. He is also a musician and has produced several tracks for the award-winning GSF360º documentaries produced by GetSportsFocus. AJ is also a student-athlete. He is the wrestling team captain and plans to pursue firefighting after high school.
ALF Joaquin
Executive Producer, Director, Videojournalist
With over 10 years of video production experience, Alf is truly passionate about his craft. He started working at a cable access station in Palo Alto, CA when he was a junior at Gunn High School. His mentor Ken Allen was the one who motivated him to pursue a career in the broadcast industry. He ended up at SJSU’s Radio, TV & Film department after high school and joined KICU36/KTVU2 as an intern during his fourth year in college. Alf spent six years working in television and racked up numerous awards, including 6 Emmy statuettes for directing, videography and editing. He was also recognized with the Edward R. Murrow Award as a videojournalist.
In 2010, ALF started GetSportsFocus to recognize and help student-athletes in the Greater Bay Area gain proper exposure for college recruiting. He has mentored several individuals aspiring to become journalists, who started as student interns for GSF and eventually moved on to work in the broadcast media industry.
LeeRoy The Innovator
Talent, Musician, Artist
LeeRoy The Innovator joined GetSportsFocus in 2015 and things have never been the same since. He is the most energetic sports entertainment host in the universe and kids go crazy everywhere he goes. LeeRoy is also a musician, songwriter, a true artist. His charisma and outgoing personality are what make his magnetic personality perfect for the job.
