Santino Topete – Silver Creek Raiders – 2021

Senior Season (2020-2021)
Santino Topete is headed to Menlo College to join some of his former wrestling teammates from Silver Creek High. As one of the standout wrestlers from the South Bay, Topete’s wrestling career is just getting started. He hopes to make an impact at Menlo Wrestling right away. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, California high school wrestling was limited to only a handful of dual meets. Some school districts canceled their wrestling season completely, but fortunately for Topete and his team, they were able to have three dual meets that were held outdoors.

Junior Season (2019-2020)
Silver Creek junior Santino Topete finished third in the CCS 126lb Wrestling Tournament beating Donovan Wallace of Evergreen 5-2 at Independence High in San Jose, CA. Topete lost in the semis against number 1 seeded Adam Arenas of Lincoln High School, who ended up winning his third CCS title against Gilroy’s Jaden Gomez. Topete’s third-place win qualified him to go to the CIF State Championship Tournament down in Bakersfield, CA. His first match was a major decision loss to Damon Elliot of Del Oro, the number sixth-seeded wrestler in the 126lb bracket followed by a narrow 2-1 loss to Connor Edwards of West Valley.
