With over 10 years of video production experience, Alforde Joaquin is truly passionate about his craft. He started working at a cable access station in Palo Alto when he was a junior at Gunn High School. His mentor Ken Allen was the one who motivated him to pursue a career in the broadcast industry. Better know as ALF, he ended up at SJSU’s Radio, TV & Film department after high school and joined KICU36/KTVU2 as an intern during his fourth year in college. Alf spent six years working in television and racked up numerous awards, including 6 Emmy statuettes for directing, videography and editing. He was also recognized with the Edward R. Murrow Award as a videojournalist.
In 2010, ALF started GetSportsFocus to recognize and help student-athletes in the Greater Bay Area gain proper exposure for college recruiting. He has mentored several individuals who started as student interns and eventually moved on to work in the broadcast media industry.
